| The Lincoln
County Historical Society was formed in 1948 to preserve the history of the county.
The Society administers the Burrows House Museum, Log Cabin Museum and the Pacific
Maritime & Heritage Center in Newport. The Oregon
Coast History Center Foundation was formed to encourage education of Lincoln County
residents and visitors about the history of the Pacific Coast, in particular,
Lincoln County. Both the Foundation and Society are 501 (c) 3 organizations registered
in the State of Oregon. Our
Challenges Challenges were great in 2008 with the Society helping the
city plan for the 125th anniversary of the incorporation of Newport; republish
several books, mount a new exhibit in the Burrows house and paint the interior
gallery. The Burrows House Museum, carriage house, and garage received a new exterior
paint job by Frank Wood's Painting and Construction. The
Pacific Maritime & Heritage Center is generating tremendous excitement.
The opportunity to leave a legacy in a project of such significance is rare. You
can play a part in building this unique facility and benefit our region for generations
to come. The Society offers a variety of ways to
participate financially. We ask you to join the many contributors who have already
stepped forward to help. All memberships, donations, and gifts are tax deductible. |
